August Book Group

I’m in a book group with a great bunch of guys.  We meet roughly once per month, about eight of us.  The book for this month is my recommendation, “The Man In The High Castle” by the Science Fiction writer, Philip K. Dick.  The book dates from 1962.  It is one of the first or perhaps the first in a genre known as alternative history.  The revolves around the counterfactual historical event, what if the Nazis and the Imperial Japanese had won World War II.  The book opens with the Nazis in control of the East Coast and the Japanese in control of the West Coast.  The action so far takes place on the West Coast.  I’m not a big sci-fi reader, but this appears to be a classic in its field.  I’ve only gotten a few pages into it, so more later.
